The Huacao area in Minhang District has essentially been developed to serve the expatriate families and the wealthier locals of Shanghai, and therefore houses, grocery stores, clubhouses, restaurants, health clinics and a wide variety of recreational services are offered in this area.

The accommodation options in the area include luxury apartments or townhouses, and grand villas of several hundred square meters in size.

 

One of the main reasons for expatriates to reside in Huacao is its close proximity to many of the best international schools in Shanghai, including the Shanghai American School, British International School, WISS and the French/German School at 20 minutes driving distance. As this area is about 45 minutes driving from downtown, only the metro lines 2 and 17 go through this area.

 

The Huacao area in Minhang is very close to the Hongqiao Airport and Train Station, which is convenient for expats who travel a lot domestically.
